Use your smartphone for validation
südtirolmobil Pass: Travel and validate directly in the app
Do you have a Flex or Fix Pass? Or a U19, U26 or 65+ ticket with additional services activated?
You can now easily validate your ticket using your smartphone. Whether you travel by bus, train, or cable car, there is no need to use the validators at stations anymore.
You can validate — and, if necessary, cancel — your journey up to one minute before departure. At the scheduled departure time, your ticket will automatically be displayed as “Active” and will remain valid for the scheduled duration of the journey
How to validate your journey online
Download the app and make an account
- Log in with your existing e-mail address and password.
- Accept the terms and conditions and privacy policy.
- You will receive an access code via e-mail or SMS, sent to the contact details you provided in the südtirolmobil user portal.
- Enter the code to verify your account.
- Find your journey by bus or train on the südtirolmobil app by entering your point of departure and destination. Then click on the purple ticket button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- Select your desired connection and click on “Buy”.
That is how you validate your journey
- Search for your bus or train journey in the südtirolmobil app by entering your departure point and destination.
- Select the ticket you would like to validate with your südtirolmobil Pass (Flex, Fix, U19, U26 or 65+).
- If necessary, add a ticket for transporting a bike or pet.
- Click on “validate”
Paying for your journey: By clicking on “Check in”, your booking will be completed. The ticket price, calculated according to your current fare price category, will be deducted from your remaining credit or charged to your account.
“Active journeys”
From the moment of your scheduled departure, the ticket you have just validated by checking in online will be displayed as “active”: On your smartphone, for instance, active journeys are displayed with the help of a green frame and a timer at the top right-hand corner indicating at what time the journey became active, i.e. valid. After the scheduled arrival time, the journey will automatically be moved to your “Completed journeys” archive.
You can also activate a journey manually before departure. To do so, go to the “Planned journeys’ section and selecting ‘Show details’ → ‘Validate now’.
This is useful, for example, if you board a few minutes early.
Please note: Once you have activated your journey manually, it can no longer be cancelled.
Ticket inspection
To prove that you have a valid ticket, simply show your mobile device with the ticket displayed as “Active” to:
- the driver, if you are boarding a regional bus, or
- ticket inspectors on all urban buses and trains.
You can view your active and planned journeys by clicking on the purple symbol in the top right-hand corner of the app. There you can also see your account details (cardholder and ticket number).
If you validate your ticket online, you do not need to carry your physical südtirolmobil Pass with you.
Cancelling a journey
Online validation makes your ticket valid only for the selected journey.
Exceptions: If a journey is cancelled, or if you miss it due to a delayed bus or train connection, you may take the next available connection without cancelling the original journey.
To request a refund for a cancelled journey, please use our online feedback form.
If you decide not to use your selected connection, you can cancel the journey free of charge up to one minute before the scheduled departure time.
