Südtirol Pass 65+

Südtirol Pass 65+: two extra months free of charge

A small compensation to make up for Covid-related restrictions

Senior citizens with Südtirol Pass 65+ subscriptions active at the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in spring 2020 will have the validity of their ticket extended for two months this year.

A number of state-sponsored aid measures have been launched with the aim of compensating both citizens and a variety of economic sectors for the restrictions during the lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus. Accordingly, the Provincial Government of South Tyrol has now issued a decision announcing that the date on which Südtirol Pass 65+ subscriptions for senior citizens typically expire every year will move forward by two months this year – in a bid to make up for the time during which the tickets could not be used due to last year’s lockdown.

This means that this year, all Südtirol Pass 65+ subscriptions that were active between March and May 2020 (i.e. a total 34,000 tickets) will be valid for an additional two months. In other words: If you would typically renew your Südtirol Pass 65+ in mid-September, you now only need to do so by mid-November. And if you’ve already renewed your Südtirol Pass 65+ in the first half of this year, the two free months will be added to your subscription starting from next year.

Please note that the extension does not apply to standard Südtirol Pass abo+ tickets, as their validity is linked to the beginning of the school year.
