Springtime check-up

Before the start of the spring and summer seasons, the Ritten/Renon cable car, the Ritten/Renon light railway and the Mendel/Mendola funicular will once again undergo the overhaul and technical inspections required by law.

What closures lie ahead?

• Ritten/Renon cable car: closed from Monday 4 March to Saturday 23 March 2024.
• Ritten/Renon light railway: from 4 to 17 March the light railway will operate at a reduced frequency, with hourly departures. The Ritten/Renon light railway will be out of service from 18 to 23 March 2024.
• Mendel/Mendola funicular: closed from Wednesday 6 March to Sunday 24 March 2024.

Replacement bus service

Bozen/Bolzano - Ritten/Renon (bus B161): for commuters, the replacement bus runs hourly between Bozen/Bolzano (cable car valley station) and Oberbozen/Soprabolzano (station). To travel between Bozen/Bolzano and the Ritten/Renon high plateau, passengers can also take bus number 165.

Kaltern/Caldaro - Mendel/Mendola (bus 134):  a replacement bus is available for commuters on weekdays (Monday to Friday, except Saturdays) on the Mendelpass/Passo della Mendola – Kaltern/Caldaro (St. Anton/San Antonio) route.

Bike transport

Bicycles are not allowed to be transported on the replacement buses.
