A tighter set of measures to contain the SARS-CoV-2 virus is about to be introduced all over South Tyrol: Starting from Wednesday 4 November, only 50% of the designated seats and standing room may be used on public transport
With infection rates at an all-time high all across South Tyrol, the provincial government has decided to reintroduce strict measures to help curb the spread of coronavirus: Until further notice, restaurants and shops will remain closed, and events of any kind are banned. In addition, the government once more urged the population to avoid any contact with people who are not members of their own household and to comply with the rules and hygiene guidelines.
For public transport, this means that from Wednesday 4 November until Sunday 22 November (to be confirmed), only 50% of the designated seats and standing room on trains and buses may be used. Unlike during the lockdown last spring, bus and train services all over South Tyrol will remain unchanged and run as usual: For the time being and with the exception of Nightliner services, no connections will be cancelled. Please remember that a valid, checked-in ticket is required for all travel by bus or train.
The provincial government once again called on all citizens to act responsibly and remain considerate towards other. For bus and train passengers, this means wearing a mask that completely covers both your nose and your mouth at all times, maintaining a safe distance and using public transport only for absolutely necessary journeys, such as to work or school.
